Video podcasing is new to us at Cwm Glas, but as ever we continue to move forward with technology. Class 9 have been studying Kenya for Global Citizenship Week and have created their own advertisements to promote the country. After filming and writing their scripts and finding music and pictures, they edited their adverts. We decided that they were so good we should share them with you. |
We are currently trialling a text messaging service from a company called Teacher2Parents. This service will contact you to remind you of important events in school. The first test of the system will be during Sports Days this week. Please make sure that the office is updated with changes to your mobile phone numbers or you will miss the messages. Thank you for your co-operation. |
We are delighted to announce that Cwm Glas Choir has been selected as one of the tweleve successful schools to compete in the final of the 'Primary Schools' Fesival of Music' at the Brangwyn Hall, Swansea, on Sunday June 14th between 1:00pm and 5:00pm.

Global Citizenship Week 2009 |

Once again we have taken part in Global Citizenship Week with classes choosing a country to study. Classes chose a variety of countries including Spain, India, Kenya and Peru and children had the opportunity to taste traditional foods and learn about the culture, housing and costume. | ||

This year our Summer Concert will be on Tuesday 7th July at 6:00pm in the Junior hall. Tickets are on sale now and available from the school office. |
This year our Leaver's Tie and Tiara disco will be on Monday 13th July at 6:00pm in the Junior Hall. Photographs will be taken and available to purchase. |

Just a note to say thank you all for the tremendous support you have given the HSA in our new venture of 'St David's Day' photographs. It was a bit hectic for the first time of organising, and I hope some of you were not kept waiting for too long. Last year you helped us to collect over 32,000 vouchers for ICT equipment, and we thank you so much for your support. This year Tesco have changed their vouchers slightly and now we can collect for all sorts of other school resources and equipment from sports, creativity and ICT. We would be grateful if you could once again collect vouchers for us. Don't forget to ask your family and friends to collect for us also. Thank you so much and we look forward to another bumper collection to help boost our resources. | ||

The site contains stories for children of all ages, including fairy stories, modern tales, myths and legends. All the stories can be downloaded to i-tunes and played back on an i-pod or suitable mp3 player. |

Internet Safety Holidays Medication Internet safety has been in the news recently. Follow some simple rules to keep yourself and your chldren safe A letter is no longer sufficient to notify us of holiday absences. If your child needs medication during school hours. Please contact the office, as a form needs to be filled in with the necessary details.
