CHILDREN IN NEED 2011 This year was a very special ' Children in Need' for us as some of our year 6 decided to take matters into their own hands and organised all the events in order to raise money for children who are less fortunate than ourselves. All the children and staff paid £1 to wear spots, we held a 'special tuck', and there were competitions organised by year six including 'guess the teacher', guess the name of the teddy', and 'guess how many sweets are in the jar'. All in all we raised a fantastic £751.26 Well done to you all!!!!

Global Citizenship Week Mission Gallery This week was Global Citizenship Week, and each class chose a country to explore. The children tasted food, religons and national sports, to give them a really good idea of what it would be like to live in another country. The fine weather has helped and the children really enjoyed the week. Pictures to follow shortly Our Year 4 children worked with a local Artist on a project that is currently on display at the Mission Gallery Swansea. The children used everyday materials to great effect.

You may have noticed that when you view some of our content you are taken to another website. This site will be our 'Portal' , which many schools in Swansea will be transferring to in the near future. We have however decided to keep our existing website for the time being, as we can keep our individuality and bright colour scheme for the benefit of our children and parents. That said the 'Portal' will be our future, and a place where we, as staff, you as parents, and our pupils will be able to visit and view information and resources. We will do our best to keep you informed of changes as they happen, but please continue to support us by visiting our website regularly. Thank you. The National Participation Standards Poster is now available for you to view or download. Put simply this document outlines the rights for children to be involved in making decisions, planning and reviewing any action that may affect them. Having a voice, having a choice. Simply click here or on the poster on the right to go to our new documents area which is located on our portal (see above) Click the poster to download from our portal

Did you get an i-pod for Christmas? |
|
Podcasting at Cwm Glas |
|
If you had an i-pod for christmas or already own one then check out this website Storynory. The site contains stories for children of all ages, including fairy stories, modern tales, myths and legends. All the stories can be downloaded to i-tunes and played back on an i-pod or suitable mp3 player. |
|
We are always looking to take technology forward at Cwm Glas, and this term we have created a new section to our website dedicated to podcasting.
What is podcasting? A podcast is a series of digital-media files which are distributed over the Internet using syndication feeds for playback on portable media such as an i-pod, mp3 or mobile phone. |
